About me

I’m Wouter Hisschemöller, an artist living and working in Amsterdam. I’ve been drawing the city for many years, exploring its neighbourhoods by foot and its surroundings by bicycle. Having lived in the city for most of my life I’ve come to know and draw a lot of of the beautiful places in the historic centre, but also many interesting spots in lesser known areas around Amsterdam that I’ve discovered over the years.

Usually I carry a small sketchbook with me in which I start my drawings with black fountain pen and finish them with coloured pencil. All drawings you see on this website were made this way.

I’ve started UrbanDrawing.com to showcase many of the drawings I’ve made over the years, and also to make a selection of the drawings available as high quality digital prints.

While I mostly draw for myself in my own sketchbooks, I also often work in commission, drawing on request for people that want a lasting memory of places that mean a lot to them. If you’re interested in having an original artwork made on request, please contact me on Instagram or through the form on my Contact page.
